suddenly a woodpecker
June 2, 2009It slammed into a window one quiet Sunday morning a couple of weeks ago, dying instantly. As best as I can determine, it was a ladder-backed woodpecker. Other than a small wound on one side of its head, it was remarkably intact.
Of course, I got photos from every angle, and as you can see, its relation to a much larger (possible) predecessor is obvious.
