melting chocolate, exploding pyrex
June 13, 2008I heard that the newer pyrex can shatter under certain circumstances, but mine are old. Today is chocolate melting day, although I could have saved some trouble by just setting the bowls out in the sun yesterday. There are bowls of milk and white chocolate chips, plus some butterscotch chips. I forgot about the pie pan used to reheat my lunch in the microwave that was left on top of one burner. That was turned on by mistake.
Now there is pyrex everywhere, although the bowls of chocolate seem to have escaped. I tried to clean up right away, big mistake as the pyrex is still really hot.
But by now, everyone around here knows to leave my prop food alone. Geez. It sounded like a gunshot.
