loose kids

May 3, 2006

At Costco tonight, two very young boys were pushing a cart and having a blast. Except, being so little, they were erratic. The proud pop just looked on while everyone tried to stay out of their way.

I wasn’t so lucky. As I leaned in to check out some item, they rammed the cart into my back. I was not amused. There was a faint, half-hearted ‘Tell the lady you’re sorry,’ in the background, but Pop didn’t really seem to care.

To make things worse, all the big containers of strawberries had been sitting too long, and bled when the cartons were picked up.

is there such a thing as ‘photographic memory’?

Can people really memorize entire books? Individuals can make claims, but how many have actually been tested?

Brutus, who lives in an enclosure in Darwin, Australia, was annoyed when a worker with a chainsaw was clearing debris from a recent storm.

Leaping out of the water, Brutus removed the saw from the worker’s hands. Witnesses say the crocodile had a good shot at the worker, but chose to destroy the saw instead.
