A Christmas present. Thanks, Jeff!
dinner and a movie: Millions
Rib stew, soothing on a chilly night. All I knew about Millions was that it involved tons of money, and kids who find it. I hate to cry at movies. Dang.
Bella’roma rose
Nurseries are filled with bareroot roses, and I found one that I had sent as a gift years ago, Bella’roma. The recipient, who lived in the south, raved about the giant blooms, promising to send me pictures.
Alas, nurseries are also havens of pollen, and it was all I could do to make my selections and leave before running out of tissues. A fellow shopper stopped me, and asked advice about fragrant roses. Lots to choose from, but it was another chance to rummage among them.
I also got yellow primroses, and was surprised to see the male shopper behind me in the checkout did the same. He was equally cheerful.
For all practical purposes in the garden, spring has arrived.
dinner and a movie: Love Song for Bobby Long
Apple pancakes and link sausages. I was only going to sit in on maybe 30 minutes of the movie, but whenever I set my expectations really, really low, it’s easy to be entertained.
Mostly, I wondered how many of the buildings are still standing post-Katrina.
