guest blog: dinner and a movie: Eyes of Laura Mars

January 10, 2006

interesting movie. helmut newton + gender change + premonitions of murder = laura mars. viewers born within the last two decades will be surprised to see a young tommy lee jones sporting a long shaggy haircut along with bellbottoms.

dinner was roast chicken stuffed with onion and roast carrots on the side. the roasting shrank the carrots quite a bit, and i remarked to the mother that they reminded me of a certain food item from one of my favorite novels. said food happened to be human flesh, and the mother was not pleased by the comparison. nonetheless, the carrots and the rest of the dinner were delicious.
