British scientists are trying to find the most repellent sounds in the world. In doing so, they hope to understand how the perception of bad sounds evolved from ancient times. Within the article is a link to their site where you can vote on what you consider the absolute worst.

As I sip my icy Pepsi (caffeine-free), I contemplate the connection between colas and hypertension as reported by Harvard School of Public Health and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
The study focused on caffeinated colas, and did not consider the diet as opposed to the sugary kind. The caffeine is not a suspect.

A stroke patient has a much better chance if treatment is applied quickly - within three hours. But now that time frame has been widened to nine hours with the use of desmoteplase (DSPE), a protein found in bat saliva that prevents blood from clotting.
It has yet to be approved by the FDA, but results are very promising.
