If you bought some Philly-Gourmet frozen beef patties, throw them out. Quaker Maid Meats is recalling 40 tons of the patties due to possible infection with E. Coli.
I’ve been meaning to get to this book by Kazuo Ishiguro, which I found at the library last night. In the children’s movie section, I picked up Spirited Away.
It put up quite a fight, but Wayne Goldsberry managed to subdue and kill the whitetail deer with his bare hands.
Sometime during the ordeal, with the deer cornered in a bedroom, Goldsberry told his wife to call the cops.
This promises to be a story to be retold for generations around the dinner table.
And yes, the deer will be eaten.

Most definitely on the Halloween playlist for next year.
Only a few trick-or-treaters, who got lots of candy. Tons left. I will put them out of sight very soon. Very soon.
One of my neighbors always outdoes everyone else in sewing skills. Her kids showed up as personifications of spring and fall with shiny flowing capes and fantasy headwear. The younger one had a tall pearl-studded hat from which real hydrangeas sprouted. The other child wore an arrangement of leaves, sheaves of wheat, and other autumn items on her equally tall hat.
I spent a long time staring at the new modem. The old one would go into fits whenever the desk was bumped or at the mere mention of dusting. But that wasn’t the problem, it seems.
It is not a good sign when the Comcast guy has to called his superiors for help. It is even worse when he admits there may or may not be an outage, as there appears to be some disagreement. Then he left.
But he checked in several times, once to tell me another truck was at a neighbor’s. and if I wanted to know the ETA, I should walk over and ask.
I didn’t know what the ETA was. I stayed put and listened to lots of music.
I’ve been without a connection since Saturday. Nice to be back. But first, my day job needs attention.
