nocturnal eating syndrome
October 9, 2005Sound-asleep sufferers rise in the night, head for the kitchen, and chow down on food, usually high fat items like chocolate, peanut butter, but sometimes odd things like raw bacon. Some are on diets during the day, and eat forbidden foods only while sleeping.
They have little memory of their night-time wanderings, and protest when confronted with candy wrappers or food stains on their clothing or faces.
