strawberries: get the red out
July 10, 2005My mom is allergic to strawberries. She says that just looking at them gives her a creepy feeling, kind of similar to how I react when passing a poison oak bush on a trail.
Swedish researchers have found that the red color in strawberries is connected with the allergens to which people are sensitive. Tests show that eating white varieties of strawberries does not bother those allergic to the red ones.
